Lovely Blog Party Kick Off!!

Lizzie! Mama! Guess what! Oh you'll never guess so I shall tell you! Mrs. Forrester has invited me as her particular friend.... Oh wait... I believe that's the wrong announcement...

What I meant to say, is that Cordy is hosting a Lovely Blog Party for the entire month of February!!

*Throws confetti and blows up some of Gandalf's fireworks*

So! You can go to Cordy's blog for all the details, but basically, we are all going to be writing about some of our favorite couples for all of February (cause y'know, Valentines Day and stuff ;))! I'm super excited, so to kick it off, I'm going to start by filling out the lovely tag that Cordy created!

Rules:
Using the prompts below, answer the following questions as creatively as you please
None of the questions require you to answer with a favorite in the category, only to find a fitting answer. They can be old, they can be new, they can be borrowed or they can be blue... they can be known or they can be unknown. You can explain your answer once you've given one.

Ivanhoe and Rebecca: Name a couple that should have been together

Oh, this one's a no brainer for me. Bella and Vernon from This Beautiful Fantastic should have toootally been a couple. I believe I have mentioned my opinion on this before, but one can never talk to much of good thing (or what could have been a good thing *ahem* scriptwriters!!!) They were super cute together and I think Vernon kind of liked her, but unfortunately, Bella's affections were already taken *sigh* Alas for what could have been!!

Jo and Laurie: Name a couple that should have stayed friends...or did stay friends...

Ummm... I kinda drawing a blank on this one. Alf Arliss and Laura Timmins maybe? Although I don't think Laura ever felt that way about Alfie, Alfie liked her for awhile. And they always remained good friends, even when Laura told Alfie that she could never feel that way about him. And I'm glad it worked out that way, because later Alfie found a much better match whom I will talk about in a minute!

Jane and Mr. Rochester: Name a couple that looked like the chances of a happily ever after were next to none!

These two! Elinor and Edward had a bit of a bumpy road to romance, because Edward was a little on the silly side in his younger years and proposed to Lucy Steele (whatever was he thinking!) But it seems Lucy's affections took a little turn, to everybody's satisfaction, and Elinor and Edward got their happy ending :)

Jane and Mr. Bingley: Name a couple that is just sooo happy!

Umm, I think I'm gonna go with Emma and Mr. Knightley. This gif totally shows it, they are so in love. I love these two, so sweet!!

Kit and Ella: Name your favorite fairytale couple

I've got the same answer as you Cordy! I looooove Kit and Ella. They give me happy fuzzies!!

Molly Gibson and Roger Hamley: Name a couple where the woman is basically ignored by the suitor until the end of the story (frustration at it's finest!! :P :P)

Amy Dorrit and Arthur Clennam. Oh, poor, poor Amy!! I feel so sorry for her. She is the sweetest thing, and she really deserved his love. And I really liked Arthur too, but come one! Like poor John Chivery says, "How do you not know it! The walls in this room know it!" *sniffles for poor John* Anyways, they did get a happy ending, though it took them awhile to get there!

Sarah and Jacob Witting: Name a couple that found love later in life

I think I'm gonna go with Dorcas Lane and Gabriel Cochrane. I could never quite decide if I liked Gabriel or not, but I was glad that he and Dorcas ended up together. They made a cute couple :D Also, there is a shocking lack of pictures of them together, so I had to settle for separate picture of each. *sigh*

Don Lockwood and Kathy Seldon: Name a couple from a musical

I'm gonna go with P.T. Barnum and Charity. I loved their relationship sooo much. They were absolutely adorable.

(I love Kathy Seldon and Don Lockwood too, but Cordy stole it ;))

Anne and Gilbert: Name a couple that didn't start out on the right foot

Kathleen Kelly and Joe Fox! These two are hilarious!! And what makes it so funny, is that they are best friends online, but when they meet in person (without knowing that they are each others internet friends) they hate each other!! But of course, they eventually grow on each other ;)

Faramir and Eowyn: Name a couple with the sweetest love story

MINNIE AND ALFIE FROM LARKRISE TO CANDLEFORD!!! THESE TWO!!!!! They are so stinkin adorable!! I will say no more, because I plan to devote a post to them sometime during this blog party!

So, what do you think? Who are some of your guy's favorite couples? Any of the above mentioned? Thanks so much for this awesome tag Cordy!! I had a great time filling it out, and I hope to have some other blog party posts out soon! TTFN, ta ta for now!!

Couples That Never Were, But Should Have Been...

Soooo....

Everybody knows those movies where guy meets girl, guy and girl become friends, guy and girl are together all the time and you are just bouncing up and down squealing "OH MY GOODNESS THIS COUPLE IS SOOOO CUTE ILOVETHEMSOMUCH!!! HOW MUCH LONGER TILL THEY PROCLAIM THEIR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER!?!" And then you watch in anticipation as the end of the movie draws closer... and closer... and closer... and then suddenly... IT. ENDS.

The movie ends and does the unspeakable...

THEY DON'T END UP TOGETHER

If you are anything like me you will proceed to scream and cry and wail and throw your popcorn bowl at the screen (don't worry, it's empty because you finished your popcorn before the opening credits were even over) and then you will gain control of yourself and say that you are over it, until somebody accidentally mentions said movie, in which case you will climb up onto your soap box and begin to tell the world how mad you are that guy and girl didn't end up together, and why guy and girl were perfect for each other, and how if you had been the producer of this movie, things would have been different. You then consider writing a letter to the producer to tell him how seriously displeased you are, which then morphs into the idea of producing your own remake of the movie just so that guy and girl will end up together, but then you remember that you don't even have enough money to buy a drink at Starbucks, therefore leaving you with nothing to do except complain to your friends and family members or whoever you can get to listen to you.

Thus is the plight of many of us poor movie watching girls.

All that to say... this post is mostly going to be me complaining about mislead lovers. If you don't want to listen to that, then you better leave, really fast. But you might feel the same about some of these characters! So if you haven't left already, do read on!

Btw, there will be A TON of spoilers. Pretty much this entire post will be spoilers so if you have not seen any of these movies than I suggest you wait until you have. But I digress...

This Beautiful Fantastic; Vernon and Bella

Ok, so I should first say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS MOVIE TO LITTLE BITTSY PIECES (review coming soon!) and I have nothing against the way it ended. BUT... I do think it would have been absolutely adorable and the sweetest thing for Bella and Vernon to have gotten married. Bella was such a doll, so cute. AND VERNON!!!! OHMYWORDOHMYWORD!!!! He's just... I mean... he's just... ASDFGWLTYPEHRGK!!!!!!!

Ok, if you have not seen this movie you won't understand all this fangirling, but if you have, DO YOU NOT AGREE!!! Vernon was the sweetest, awesomest character in the entire movie. He was adorable, and lovable, and GAAAAHHHHH!!

GUYS!! THIS SCEEEEENE!! Just Watch This. WATCH IT

DID YOU WATCH IT!!! DO YOU NOW UNDERSTAND!!

"How long has it been since you've been hugged?"
"It's been awhile."

Just sniffles and smiles and happiness <3

They would have been an adorable couple, and I thought that was what was going to happen at first, but then Billy showed up and ya'll know what happened after that.

SUCH SADNESS MY HEART WENT THROUGH AT ANOTHER CERTAIN PART...

You know, that part where Vernon finds Bella asleep at her desk and they start talking about Billy...

"So what does Mr. Wonderful do?"
"He creates mechanical animals."
"Oh. At least he's got prospects."

SOB. The SADNESS in Vernon's great big brown puppy-dog eyes, because he loved Bella :(

*sniffle sniffle*

I DID like Billy, he was very sweet and was just the right amount of "odd" for Bella. I liked them together, BUT BELLA AND VERNON WERE BETTER!!!!

Think of it! Vernon and Bella would get married, and Vernon's darling little girls (they were stinkin' adorable btw <3) would have a mama again, and they would all live happily ever after. But alas, not all things are meant to be.

P.S. I will hopefully be doing a post just about Vernon soon! Let me know in the comments if you'd be interested in such a post!

Cranford; Dr. Marshland and Mary

So I know I'm not the only one who hoped for this pairing. I've heard many a Cranford fan complain that they didn't end up together. They would have been a great couple!! Yeah, I've always been a little bugged with Dr. Marshland for creating that whole mess for poor Dr. Harrison (scowls at Dr. Marshland), but Mary was there to set him straight, which she did a capital job of! Can I hear an Amen!!

So yeah... I can't really think of anything else to say about them, except that I would have really liked to see Mary have a romantic attachment, and Jack Marshland would have been perfect!

Sorry for the bad quality, it was the only other pic of them together

Pride and Prejudice; Mr. Collins and Mary Bennet

WOULD THESE TWO NOT BE PERFECT TOGETHER

I'm not sayin' that Jane Austen didn't know best, and I know that if these two had gotten together it would probably have thrown the whole book off, but you gotta admit that they were exactly each others cup of tea. (Mr. Collins just didn't go for her cause she wasn't pretty. Talk about conceited)

But anyways, Mary was very into reading and philosophical stuff, so was Mr. Collins. She took pride in being a very book learned person, so did Mr. Collins. They both enjoy criticizing their friends and family quite condescendingly. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR!!

At one point in the book, it states that Mary would not have minded marrying Mr. Collins at all, and would have liked for him to notice her. So there was at least a one-sided attraction.

But look at Mary's face!! She was REEEEEEALLY hoping that Mr. Collins was going to ask her for the first dance. I feel so sorry for her at times :(.

My word, this post has gotten long! I believe I will stop here and maybe do a second post later! Thanks ya'll for enduring my gushing and complaining! Sorry that I have been so bad about posting lately, it's been a crazy school year *sigh*. But I will try to be better...

P.S. New blog look (in case you haven't already figured that out :P) It was time for a Fall look. What do you think?! Bye!

What say you?
Do you agree on any of these couples?
Who are a few couples that you would have liked to see end up together?
Let me know in the comments!
